Beginner Climbing Camp

Beginner Climbing Camp (Ages 6-10)

Calling all climbing kids! Come out for an amazing week of climbing and having fun. Learn basic techniques in knots, belaying, and climbing movement. The final day of each camp is outdoors, climbing on real rock here in Summit County, returning to the Rec Center by 5:00pm. If you've already attended a Level 1/Beginner Climbing Camp, check out our Level 2/Intermediate Climbing Camp to pick up where you left off last summer to keep the climbing going! Upon successful completion, climbers may move to our Level 2 Climbing Camp.

Suggested personal equipment for outdoor climbing day: Comfortable shoes for approach, water bottle, snack, wind/rain jacket, extra layers, sunscreen/lip balm, hat, camera.

Intermediate/Advanced Climbing Camp (Ages 7-11)

So you're a veteran of Beginner/Level 1 Climbing Camp and you want to learn more about the technical side of climbing? This camp is just for you! Learn new skills including rappelling, intermediate climbing techniques, and much more! As always, on Fridays we will be climbing outdoors, returning to the Recreation Center by 5:00pm.

To register for this program, participants must have attended a Beginner/Level 1 Climbing Camp within the past 3 years or must receive approval from a Climbing Wall Instructor or the Outdoor Recreation Coordinator, Steve Rosenthal. For questions, please call Steve at 970-547-4324.
