Rich and Carolyn Miller leading hike

The Rich and Carolyn Miller Legacy Pass is for active adults 60+ who spend their time dedicated to serving Summit County and its local community members.

Carolyn and Rich Miller (above in dark blue shirts) spent their retirement enjoying our mountains but also volunteering for several organizations throughout the community.  Carolyn volunteered with Summit Advocates for Victims of Assault (now ARISE) taking overnight calls to support our neighbors in crisis.  Rich prided himself in helping keep others safe as a member of the Summit County Rescue Group as well as volunteering for Summit Advocates for Victims of Assault. Both Carolyn and Rich were people you wanted to know and to have in your life.

These two individuals were caring and selfless, always sharing their time and knowledge with neighbors and strangers alike.  It was the selfless acts that they continued throughout their lives that has us honoring their legacy through this program. Their influence in our community will always be cherished, prompting the Recreation Department to dedicate this pass in their honor.

Seniors who volunteer for 10 hours or more per month for a year are eligible to enter a quarterly drawing for a free annual Recreation Center Pass. Passes are reviewed annually. Once awarded, you will be contacted via email.
