Don't miss this favorite event of the 4th of July celebration! This scenic 10K trail running race offers up some of the best views in the Breckenridge! This race is limited to 500 people and usually sells out in June. Registered racers receive a sweet race tee!

The Independence 10K operates under special use permit from the USDA Forest Service and the White River National Forest.

Online registration closes Thursday, July 3 at 8:00am. If not sold out, runners can register in person at the Carter Park bib pick-up July 3 from 3:00-6:00pm and the morning of the race beginning at 6:00am.

Bib and t-shirt pick up and in-person registration at Carter Park (address and directions below) is July 3 from 3:00-6:00pm. T-shirts are available for the first 500 registrants. Please remember shirt sizes are given out on a first come first serve basis. Registered participants may also pick up shirts and bibs on race day at 6:00am.

DEFERRAL POLICY:
Participants can defer their race entry to a future race. All deferral requests need to be sent to racebreck@townofbreckenridge.com at least 8 days prior to the race.

COURSE MAP + DESCRIPTIONS

Cutoff Times:

Please be advised that there is a strict cutoff time for this race. Participants must complete the course by 10:00am. At Barney Ford, about 2 miles into the course, course marshals will assess whether adjustments need to be made for individual participants. If you have not reached Barney Ford/Juniata by 8:10am, the course will be shortened for you. Please consult the provided map for reference. Thank you for your cooperation. The Firecracker 50 MTB race will commence immediately after this event!
