Backcountry Education

The Breckenridge Recreation Department is thrilled to partner with Rocky Mountain Guides for a series of informational and instructional opportunities to safely explore the backcountry. Join us for clinics and tours running through the winter season.

RMG Snow Talk Series (Ages 12 & up)

The Breckenridge Recreation Center in partnership with The Rocky Mountain Guides present: Snow Talk! This monthly gathering offers a FREE opportunity for those interested in or actively participating in backcountry access to come together and discuss conditions.

The Snow Talk Series is catered to the backcountry community and those interested in venturing into it. Together we will analyze weather forecasts, CAIC reports and current conditions. The wonderful Rocky Mountain Guides will lead the discussion on dangerous patterns to look for throughout the course of the ski season. Snow Talk is a chance for Summit County to connect and update one another on the current conditions they have encountered in the backcountry.

The Snow Talk Series will be held from 6:00-7:00pm in the Multipurpose Room of the Breckenridge Recreation Center starting January 2 and continuing on the first Thursday of every month (except January) through April.

Snow Talk Series Dates: January 9 (canceled), February 6, March 5, and April 2.
