River Park receives the Colorado Lottery's 2019 Starburst Award!

Breckenridge offers playgrounds throughout the town, each easily accessible from residential, lodging and recreational locations. Breckenridge playgrounds have unique offerings and themes, with elements suitable for kids of all ages.

Phase 1 is now complete. River Park is an artfully designed and constructed, nature-based environment for children ages 5-12 to experience river systems, forests, and the rich history of the area while at play. The park provides shelter and places to gather and nature-play features to stimulate children’s imagination, engagement, and connection with their environment. Phase 1 includes the playground, bridge connection to the recreation path, pavilion, restrooms, and landscaping. River Park received the Colorado Lottery's 2019 Starburst Award for excellence in the use of funds for a community project.

  • Located west of the Stephen C. West Ice Arena
  • Site includes real Engine No. 9 train engine and boxcars
