Greetings golf community,
 
Welcome to the 2025 golf season! The snow is melting, the grass is turning green, and we’re preparing for another epic season here at the Breckenridge Golf Club. The question on everyone’s mind is, when will the course open? Currently, our target opening date for nine-holes and the driving range is Friday, May 16th. As usual, this date is weather dependent. Once we see what Mother Nature delivers over the next few weeks, we will officially announce the opening day.   
 
The next question people ask is, how are the greens? I’m pleased to say the greens look fantastic! Overall, the golf course overwintered very well and made it through relatively unscathed. Our maintenance team has been diligently working since March, clearing snow and working their magic to bring the course back to life. We anticipate having exceptional playing conditions again this summer, so be sure to thank the maintenance team members when you see them out on the course! 

There are some project updates I'd like to share. The clubhouse exterior stair project, on the East side of the clubhouse, was completed last fall and it turned out wonderful! The width and run of the stairs have been expanded, which will provide better traffic flow in and out of the clubhouse. The cart path resurfacing on the Beaver course was also completed last fall and they are smooth as glass! This spring, we are continuing the perimeter fence replacement project on the Bear course. This will alter our normal opening order, as the Bear course is usually the first nine to open. This season the order will be Beaver, Elk, Bear, to allow time to complete the fence project. 

 
For all the riders out there, I am happy to announce that we have received a new fleet of golf carts! The new carts are equipped with lithium-ion batteries, which will last longer and be more reliable than the old ones. We even opted for the premium seats, so you’ll be riding around in style! Additionally, the gas beverage carts are set to be replaced with electric beverage carts. This means you won’t hear them approaching during your back swing! 
 
 
This year, registration for all of our programs is being done online. This includes local registration, league play, clinics, and bag storage. This new process will be more efficient and save thousands of sheets of paper. As a reminder, local registration MUST be completed every year before you are assigned a price class.  If you have not registered yet, please do so before you show up to play golf.

If you’re looking to buy new clubs this summer, we will be hosting several club fitting events. Callaway, TaylorMade, and Cobra professionals will be on site to help custom-fit you with the latest and greatest club technology!  Registration for these events is required, and they usually fill up quickly.
