Open Kayaking (Ages 8 & Up)

The Breckenridge Recreation Center pool is the place to be this spring to roll the rust off your kayak! We provide flat water in a controlled environment perfect for practicing rolls, braces, wet exits and other kayaking skills that need to be sharpened before the run off. This is a self-practicing program, instruction is not provided. Maximum of 10 boats, contact the Recreation Center Front Desk to reserve your spot.
Day: Fridays
Time: 6:15-7:30pm
Dates: May 5-26 
Fee: $10 per boat

CPR/AED/First Aid Certification (Ages 11 & Up)

Are you prepared to save a life? Learn how with this American Red Cross course that teaches Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) techniques to be used on adults, infants and children. It also teaches how to respond to injuries and sudden illness in a systematic manner. The first two nights cover CPR/AED and the third covers First Aid. Certification is valid for 2 years for CPR/AED and Basic First Aid.

CPR Challenge (Ages 16 & Up)

This American Red Cross CPR/AED/First Aid challenge course is a quick recertification for the Lay Responder. The class lasts approximately one hour and 45 minutes and students take three written exams followed by one-on-one CPR/AED skills scenarios. Review manuals can be checked out in advance by contacting the pool office at 970- 547-4334.

Adult Beginner Swim Lessons (Ages 13 & Up)

Have you ever wanted to go do a triathlon, raft a river, or snorkel in the ocean? Do you miss out on fun at water parks, hotel and recreation center pools where friends, families and trips take you over and over again, only to be left out because you lack confidence in your swimming abilities? Believe it or not, you are not alone! The good news is our experienced instructors are eager to help adults become proficient swimmers by creating a solid foundation to build upon and move forward. This is a great opportunity to learn an important skill that allows you to explore more ways to be active, healthy, safe, and above all, to fully enjoy aquatic settings during your lifetime. Basic swimming skills are introduced on the first day, and as confidence rises, the focus shifts to different stroke techniques and building endurance. Friday evenings  are the perfect private setting for effective adult swim lessons.

American Red Cross Lifeguard Course

Don’t miss this opportunity to earn a valuable certification you can carry with you for a lifetime. Lifeguards are almost always in high demand throughout the country. Water Aerobics

A great way to stay fit in the water! Check out our water aerobics a fun, shallow-water movement to improve agility and flexibility while addressing cardiovascular, strength and endurance conditioning. This class combines segments of cardio and strength training using training intervals and water approved weight resistance tools. Participants need to wear appropriate swim attire. For questions, contact the Aquatics Coordinator at 970-547-4338.  Water Aerobics is a drop-in class offered year-round.  The class is free with your Recreation Center admission.
Days: Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays & Fridays
Time: 8:00-9:00am

Breckenridge Masters Swimming (Ages 18 & Up)

Whether you are a fitness swimmer, a former competitive swimmer, or a triathlete in training, the U.S. Masters Swimming community will help you work toward your individual goals. Under the guidance of USMS Coach Jaime Brede and Jacque Maldonado, you will develop effective habits in a fun environment with other swimmers who wish to take their fitness to the next level.

A USMS membership is not required for daily participation, but there are many benefits of becoming a USMS member including regional swimming competitions, Streamlines magazine subscription, gear discounts, and being part of the adult swimming community at large. Please pay and sign in at the front desk.  Ask about our convenient punch pass. Please call the Aquatics Coordinator with any questions at 970-547-4338.

Private and Semi-Private Swim Lessons (All Ages)

Do you or your child need a little extra help learning to swim or improving your skills? If group lessons don't quite fit your needs, private lessons can offer a solution! Private lessons are designed to provide individualized instruction for all ages and levels of swimming.

We also offer semi-private swim lessons for small groups of swimmers, a great option for friends and families. Our swimming instructors and coaches instruct groups up to 3 swimmers of similar levels and abilities to improve swimming in a fun and comfortable environment.

Transferable swim lesson punch passes are available in 3 or 5 punches and save you up to 23%. All lessons are scheduled by appointment only. Please contact the Aquatics office at 970-547-4334 for information and to schedule lessons.

Private Swimming Lessons: $25 per half-hour lesson
Semi-Private Swimming Lessons (up to 3 people): $40 per half-hour lesson
3-Punch Passes: Private/Semi-Private - $70/ $90
5-Punch Passes: Private/Semi-Private - $125/ $150
