Figure Skating in BreckenridgeFigure skating for all levels is offered at the Stephen C. West Ice Arena. We offer instruction, ice time and biannual performances. From never-evers to competitive skaters and locals to out-of-town visitors, we have a skating program to suit you.

Skaters are required to pay a one-time annual membership fee to LEARN TO SKATE USA by clicking here. This ensures membership, additional skating information and benefits as a skater in the program. USFS Basic Skills program is for recreational, figure and hockey skaters.
Bridge to Freestyle (Ages 9-13)Bridge to Freestyle is a group skating class for skaters who have passed Basic Skills (or Instructor placed) and are working on more advance elements. This class prepares and helps skaters practices skills for freestyle sessions while creating friendships and getting extra coaching. During this 30 minute class skaters will work on USFSA Freestyle levels 1-6. You may also make arrangements for private lessons and there will be 15 minutes of practice time after class..

Figure Skating Summer Camp (Ages 8-17)Has your child attended skating classes or the Showtime skating class and wants to take her/his figure skating to the next level? Come join in the fun at the Stephen C. West Ice Arena this summer as professional coaches teach students a well-rounded figure skating curriculum including:
- On- and off-ice skills/stretch/dance
- Edge work
- Choreography, jumps and spins
- Education on the different elements of figure skating and styles
Students complete 2 hours on ice each day and 1 hour off ice. Please dress appropriately and bring water and snack. Gym shoes also required for off-ice work. Registration deadline is Friday, June 16.Campers up to age 12 can enjoy a full day of fun by joining Breckenridge Mountain Camp for the afternoon (transportation not provided). SHOWTIME Ice Skating (Ages 10-17)
We are excited to announce that more group numbers are now being included in Stephen C. West Ice Arena figure skating shows! "Showtime" is where skaters have the opportunity to learn group choreography, camaraderie and teamwork!
Skaters enrolling in Showtime should have basic skating skills and either be participating in ice skating classes or taking private lessons to continue to improve their skating skills. The weekly Showtime class focuses on learning and practicing a choreographed group number for the Spring Ice Show held Saturday March 25 at 6:30pm. Skaters perform with other skaters of similar skating levels.
Skaters are expected to attend all class dates, as it is very important to have all group members present while choreography is learned and practiced. In addition, skaters are required to attend the show dress rehearsal held Thursday, March 23 from 4:30-6:00pm.

Afterschool SHOWTIME Ice School (Ages 5-12)
Has your child completed several classes of our ice skating lessons and is ready for the next step in the skating world? Enroll him or her in our Showtime program for a chance to perform in front of an audience. Figure or hockey skates....it doesn't matter! All that's needed is for your child to want to shake her/his booty and to learn choreography to a skating routine to be performed in the Spring Ice Show held on Saturday, March 25 at 6:30pm.
Basic skating skills are required for this class. USFS Basic Skills level 4 preferred. For questions regarding skating ability, please contact the Ice Programs Coordinator at (970) 547-7883. Students skate with an instructor on the OUTDOOR ice rink to learn new skating skills and choreography. Skate rental is included in program fee. Please be sure that your child dresses accordingly as all classes meet on the OUTDOOR rink. This includes socks, snow pants, jacket, hat and gloves.
Participants are expected to attend all 8 class dates, as it is very important to be present when learning and practicing choreography. Participants must also plan to attend the skate show dress rehearsal on Thursday, March 23, from 4:30-6:00pm. The costume fee is also included with registration.
Transportation is provided from Upper Blue and Breckenridge Elementary. Students not attending Breckenridge schools are encouraged to participate but need to provide their own transportation.

Spring Skating Exhibition (All Ages)
This spring come enjoy an evening of entertainment at the Stephen C. West Ice Arena's Spring Skating Exhibition! This family show includes performances by local youth and teen figure skaters, showcasing skills and routines prepared over months of practices. You'll also be entertained with performances by former professional skaters!
Don't miss out on this fun community event that your entire family is sure to enjoy! The show will take place Saturday, March 25 at 6:30pm. Show tickets are $6, and kids ages 3 and under are FREE! Tickets may be purchased online until March 24. Afterward, tickets may be purchased at the door.
If you or your child is interested in performing in this show, please register for our "Showtime" programs for youth and adults. Showtime classes meet Mondays afterschool and Tuesday evenings.
