Breckenridge Outdoor Camps

Wild Child Wilderness Camp (Ages 7-12)

Take a walk on the wild side with the Breckenridge Recreation Department, as we spend time hiking and exploring around the wild places of Breckenridge.  Being on a mountain trail exposes children to wonders they never thought they would experience.  Hikes are made to be especially kid-friendly as we stop for trail-side activities and games.  Topics include map and compass use, trail signs, camouflage, animals, plants, backcountry cooking, Leave No Trace principles, and more. Along with planned educational camp activities, we build in time every day for the kids to simply play in the woods.  A chance to escape from our busy schedules to experience unstructured time in nature can do wonders for a child's social, physical, and emotional development!

Participants meet at the climbing wall in the Rec Center at 7:55am each morning of camp.  Be sure to bring a rain jacket, sunglasses, sunscreen, snacks, water, hiking shoes/boots, and a camera!  No camp on Wednesdays.

Please complete the online Outdoor Programs Waiver prior to your session.

Campers registered for this camp can enjoy a full day of fun by joining Breckenridge Mountain Camp for the afternoon. Click here for more information on half-day BMC.  Campers may also attend the BMC field trip on Wednesday.

Mountain Bike Camp (Ages 8-13)

Summer in Breckenridge means that the bikes are out, the trails are dry, and it is time to put the rubber to the dirt! Join us this summer for our week-long mountain bike camps. At the start of each day, we head out to a select Summit County trail system to ride and refine our skills on the bike while enjoying the beautiful high country scenery. Camp meets in the lobby of the Breckenridge Recreation Center.

All participants must have a way to carry their own water, a helmet, some prior mountain biking experience, an appropriate and well- tuned bike, and are strongly encouraged to bring a snack, rain gear and an extra layer. No camp on Wednesdays. Please complete the online Outdoor Programs Waiver prior to your session.
